Wooden Flooring
Air-Cush Wooden Flooring is crafted using premium imported White Oak, Teak, or Maple. Designed as a versatile, multi-functional sports surface, it is suitable for players of all ages. Engineered with precision, wooden flooring ensures safety by minimizing injury risks, offering excellent and consistent resiliency, shock absorption, and optimal friction.
The surface is designed to strike the perfect balance between grip and slide, enhancing player comfort and performance. Meeting the requirements and standards prescribed by leading international sports federations and governing bodies, wooden surfaces deliver professional-level quality.
Each floor is carefully sanded, buffed, sealed, and finished, while being kiln-dried and borer-treated to protect against humidity and insect damage. The sub-floor, constructed with treated New Zealand Pine sleepers, provides robust support and creates an air cushion system that allows proper ventilation and dimensional stability.
The Surface Board
Kiln-seasoned imported Maple, Oak, or Teak wood surface boards, 21 mm thick, 60–70 mm wide, and of random lengths, are finished in a tongue-and-groove profile. The board edges feature a finger-lock groove, while the underside is designed with air-pass grooves and coated with polyurethane lacquer for enhanced durability.
The Under Frame
The underframe consists of commercial-grade Fir, Spruce, or Pine wood runners measuring 70 mm × 45 mm, treated with an anti-termite solution. These runners are fixed with 10 mm thick air-cushioning pads at 300 mm center-to-center spacing, secured by staples through both wings.
The Installation
A 6 mil (600 micron) thick vapor barrier will be laid over the leveled IPS sub-floor prior to installing the underframe. The runners, fitted with air-cell cushioning pads, will then be positioned over the vapor barrier in perfect alignment at 300 mm center-to-center spacing in one direction. Surface boards will be fastened to the runners by screwing through the tongue, with each tongue securely locked by the adjoining board’s groove. Board ends will be interlocked using wooden fingers inserted into the edge grooves and bonded with suitable adhesive. An expansion gap of 8–10 mm will be maintained between the wooden flooring and the surrounding tiled area or wall to accommodate natural movement.
The Finishing
After Installation the floor will be machine sanded in uniform level and finished with Polyurethane lacquer. Game line marking will be carried out in required colors before applying the finish coat.
Base Preparation (To Be Carried Out By You)
The IPS sub-floor, trowel-finished smooth and leveled to a tolerance of 3 mm, is to be provided by you for the installation of our flooring system. The total height of the complete floor assembly, including runners, will be approximately 76 mm. Accordingly, the under-floor surface should be prepared at a level 76 mm below the finished floor surface.
Note: Installation of the floor system shall commence only after the concrete has been cured for a minimum of 21 days.
